World Wildlife Fund Wetland Commission

I have just begun a project, commissioned by the World Wildife Fund, documenting the wildlife around a new wetland in Norfolk. The wetland was designed and installed by Norfolk Rivers Trust with the aim of removing nutrients from a sewage treatment works, which would have otherwise gone into the river, causing ecological damage. The wetland is only two years old but is already performing well by both removing nutrients and also providing excellent habitat for a wide range of plants and animals.

So far I’ve photographed a range of wildlife, from roe deer to sedge warblers and I’m looking forward to exploring the area further over the next few weeks and recording the biodiversity inhabiting the area. I will post a gallery of my images shortly and they’ll also be appearing in WWF literature so if you’re a member keep an eye out for them.
